Injustice 3: Things It Must Learn From Mortal Kombat 11

2. A Balance Of Old And New

Characters like Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman are always going to be a feature in Injustice, but Mortal Kombat 11 did a (mostly) good job of introducing brand new characters like Gerras and Cetrion.

That means we might actually see some more obscure DC heroes and villains. Which might not sound too appealing to the non-comic fan, but just take a look at the iconic DC Comic, Identity Crisis, as proof of how this can work.

Identity Crisis was an event comic from 2004 that introduced a serial killer who targeted the loved ones of the DC heroes. What made the story so great however, was its focus on The Elongated Man.

Needless to say, The Elongated Man is a D-class superhero, maybe even lower, but the comic made you care about him in a profound way and elevated his status.

Injustice 3 could do something similar by bringing in some characters from the past like Hawkman and Jonah Hex, as well as some newer characters like The Signal and Bluebird. There's so much room to expand the DC roster, and we haven't even talked alternate Green Lanterns, and that can take the story in some unexpected ways.
