Insomniac's Spider-Man 2: 5 Obscure Villains That Must Appear

Alistair Smythe, better known as the Spider-Slayer, is the son of Spencer Smythe - an industrialist with an intense hatred of Spider-Man who died due to prolonged exposure to the radioactivity fuelling his ‘Spider-Slayer’ robots, designed to hunt and kill the Web-Head.

Inheriting his father's hatred of Spider-Man, Alistair builds an advanced Spider-Slayer suit and sets out to finish what his Father started.

A tragic, almost sympathetic character, Alistair is just a scared and lonely boy who misses his Father and has a red-and-blue clad superhero to aim his fury at. Insomniac’s Peter has said before he regrets that he isn’t able to "save everyone", and his inability to save Spencer from his own obsession could make for a hard-hitting story of revenge, sorrow, and regret.
