Kingdom Hearts 4: Everything We Know So Far
2. Jedi And Marvel Superheroes Could Make An Appearance
Following Disney’s acquisition of Pixar in 2006, the game developers were able to include these properties in Kingdom Hearts 3. Seeing Toy Story and Monsters Inc in-game had raised many fans hopes that we would see other such companies acquired by Disney in the last decade, and although this wasn’t the case then, it could be for the fourth game.
Cinematic powerhouses Marvel and Star Wars joined Disney in 2009 and 2012 respectively, and would be guaranteed draws to the series for new players. It may not be as cut and dry as that however. EA currently have the exclusive rights to Star Wars games so unless this changes in the near future, there is no reason that Disney would wrest this grip.
Marvel however seem to have no similar exclusive agreement and are already working with Square Enix on The Avengers Project, first announced in 2017. Tetsuya Nomura hasn’t discounted this as a possibility (yet) which is hopeful. If you’re worried how Sora and the gang could fit into The Avenger’s world, just remember the improvements we saw in the new Pirates of the Caribbean world and rest easy.
