Kingsglaive - Final Fantasy XV Review: 4 Ups & 6 Downs

5. It Wastes A Talented Voice Cast

Arguably the movie's biggest crime is the ridiculous waste of a terrifically talented trio of actors. Firstly, there's Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul, who plays protagonist Nyx Ulric, a generic-looking, hopelessly bland Kingsglaive guard, and without much of interest to work with, Paul is forced to sleepwalk his way through the part.

Next up is Game of Thrones' Lena Headey, who is hilariously miscast as Lady Lunafreya Nox Fleuret, a character clearly far younger than Headey and so the voice doesn't match the look of the character at all. It honestly just feels like a desperate step to appeal to the nerd contingent by casting a popular actress from the biggest fantasy property on TV right now.

Sean Bean arguably fares the best as the noble King of Lucis, Regis Lucis Caelum CXIII, but even he isn't utilised to his full potential.

It's easy to see why these three actors were cast (brand recognition) and why they agreed to do it (easy money for a weekend in a sound booth), but given the potential here, it ends up feeling rather cynical and lazy.
