1. "Throw Item, Then Molotov" Still Works Every Time

An oldie but a goodie, I fell back on this tactic throughout the original Last of Us, and it still gets you through the majority of encounters here too.

Whilst you always need to make the tradeoff of health kit versus molotov thanks to their shared crafting components, stock up on the latter and this strategy will see you through the whole game.

Literally just toss a distraction item in any direction - especially if there are multiple Infected - wait for them to mass in that spot, then toss a molotov in to kill everything at once.

Bigger enemies like the Bloater can shrug this off and come at you afterwards, but the damage dealt will take out the vast majority of foes - human and Infected alike - in seconds.
