League of Legends North American LCS Summer Split Analysis: Week 1

T-7. Velocity eSports (1-4)

Vel Esports Velocity eSports, like Cloud Nine, is one of the new teams in the LCS competition this split, and unlike the latter, Velocity eSports' performance has not impressed many. After winning their first game over Counter Logic Gaming, they skidded to a four game losing streak against Team Curse, Team Vulcun, Team Dignitas, and Cloud Nine. Their team has some strong points but also have weak links. The team includes top lane Cris, mid lane Vileroze, NK Inc in the jungle, maplestreet at AD carry, and veteran support Evaniskus. Top lane player Cris played well for most of the week but made some blatant mistakes, such as charging Cloud Nine's Balls as Ryze one too many times. However, Cris proved effective in team fights. Vileroze also played well for the most part but struggled against stiff competition. Against Cloud Nine's Hai, he went 1/4/7 as Rumble mid. As AP Janna against Team Dignitas, Vileroze went 0/5/8. He balanced it out with a good performance as Kayle against Counter Logic Gaming. NK Inc has made uneven performances in the jungle, most of them as Lee Sin. AD carry maplestreet made some brilliant plays but also got caught a few too many times. Evaniskus' performances, like BloodWater's on Team Vulcum, are very quiet and underrated.
