League Of Legends North American LCS Summer Split Analysis: Week 4

8. Velocity eSports (2-10)

Vel Esports For the second week in this split, Velocity eSports left a week without a win. Even with improved performances by top lane player Cris and jungler NK Inc, Velocity completely dropped the ball against TSM Snapdragon and continued their streak by losing to Counter Logic Gaming. Velocity specializes in gaining a massive early game lead, but they need to learn how to finish a game without making costly mistakes. This team may be at the bottom, but there is still time to turn it around. However, they are eight wins behind Cloud Nine and two games behind seventh place. They will need to improve rapidly to have a chance. Top lane player Cris improved his performances this week from last, going 2/1/8 and 2/4/2 on Elise against TSM Snapdragon and Counter Logic Gaming. Although he is certainly not the best top lane player, I find it quite odd that he gets no more than 60 viewers on his live streams on Twitch. Mid lane player Vileroze had the most perfect Rumble ultimate most audiences had ever seen, but that may have been the highlight of Velocity's entire weekend. He still made a great performance on Ryze, going 5/3/6 against TSM. Jungler NK Inc showed major improvement and proved lethal on the Evelynn jungle pick. His ganks this week were a lot less "do or die," showing great improvement indeed. AD carry Maplestreet never seems to have a game with a negative kill to death ratio; his worst game this week was 2/2/2 on Varus. I will not hesitate to put Maplestreet in the mix for the top three AD carries in the LCS due to his consistency and resilience in lane. Support Evaniskus never makes an amazing impact other than keeping Maplestreet safe in laning phase.
