Legend Of Zelda: 10 Best Characters Who Only Appear In One Game

2. Zant - Twilight Princess

Why not keep the ball rolling on awesome villains that provide LOZ players with some respite from Ganon? Well, Zant, the antagonist of Twilight Princess, is certainly a massive standout.

Twilight Princess is easily the darkest and most mature Zelda game, and that is reflected in this terrifyingly calm, controlled and soft-spoken villain. Zant was the self-proclaimed King of Twilight and a member of the Twili. These were a race of ancient sorcerers condemned to the Twilight Realm after they attempted to claim the Triforce.

One of the character's most intriguing elements was his motivation, which kept him feeling believable. He was bitter thanks to his people's banishment, seeking revenge on those who locked the Twili away. While his actions were unjustified, his desire for revenge was understandable. His design is also incredibly creepy, with his strange mask and tendril-like clothing making him a perfect figure for the gothic style of Twilight Princess.

Unfortunately, while the character is one of Zelda's best, he's also an example of a big missed opportunity. The compelling villain was pushed to the side towards the game's closing act in favour of the classic baddie Ganondorf, which many players thought was a big mistake.
