Legend Of Zelda: 5 Reasons Nintendo Should NOT Be Remastering Skyward Sword
1. There Are Much Better Zelda Games To Remaster
All of these issues lead to the question: Why did Nintendo spend precious time and resources remastering one of its worst games? It's not like they didn't have a slew of other, better Zelda games to pick from!
Even putting aside the Wind Waker and Twilight Princess HD (which every games journalist under the sun seems convinced will be coming sooner rather than later), the Zelda catalogue is full of gems that deserve another day in the sun on Nintendo's latest machine.
A Link to the Past hasn't seen a re-release since the days of the Game Boy Advance; Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks, while not the greatest Zelda games, would be a worthwhile double pack at the appropriate price (or even at full price, if they were released as a triple pack alongside Wind Waker); Frick, even the GBA's Minish Cap is more deserving of a second chance than Skyward Sword!
If Nintendo really wanted to bring people back onside, though, they could do a lot worse than giving the Capcom-developed Oracle duology a remake. Both games are worthy additions to the Zelda canon, and both are fully deserving of the chance to entertain a whole new generation of gamers.
No other games franchise has delivered the highs that Zelda has over its 35 year history - it's just a shame Nintendo is celebrating the occasion by reminding everyone of its lowest point.
