3. The Flight Sections Are Amazing

In the past, flying in LEGO games has felt pretty scripted (in the sense that you don’t get a great deal of control in on-rails sections, even though they can be exciting), but now the introduction of arena flying is a great addition.

The Millennium Falcon sequences were a particular highlight of the hands-on play: you’re tasked with shooting down TIE fighters (quite a few, actually) in an arena that feels like a good old fashioned dog fight game.

Saying it’s complex would probably be the wrong word (the targeting helps), but it certainly stretches different muscles. And it’s the kind of thing that is deeply unforgiving if you fail to pay attention (for decades now I have been haunted by accidentally getting lost while flying straight upwards in flying games), but it’s very rewarding.
