4. Skills Trainer Is A Godsend For Beginners

Rank beginners will also appreciate Madden's love of teaching people about the ins and outs of the sport.

If you've never played an NFL game before, it's worth sinking a few hours into the Skills Trainer suite, learning the basics and figuring out that knowledge is king. Football's hardcore will know this, but they too should think about the trainer. Aside from beginner drills like the difference between a possession pass and a riskier play, there's a depth to the tutorial that's very cool to see.

On top of that, anyone taking the necessary time to complete some of the skill trees will be rewarded by unlockable player packs for use in Ultimate Team. That's clever of EA, because they probably know some series vets will snort at Skills Trainer even being an option on the main menu.

EA have done an expert job of making the NFL experience one that needn't be exclusive to those who watch every game or study team playbooks like the Bible. Even if you knew next-to-nothing about how the sport works, you will within 15-20 minutes, and that's to Madden's credit.
