Madden 20: 7 Biggest Changes You Need To Know
5. Unique Playbooks
On the same subject of deception, here come some expanded playbooks.
How can budding NFL coaches hope to outwit their opponents when they all seem to have the same hymn sheets to sing from? It was rather limiting last year to see the same old plays rear their ugly heads when you were desperately seeking something that'd mix things up. Alas, playbooks will be more unique to each team in 20.
EA are also making a big deal out of some new trick plays like the 'Philly Special'. That, along with a generous helping of ball club individuality, will help feed immersion. Here's an example of how that'll work from EA's own website. "For example, the Ravens’ playbook is tailored more to Lamar Jackson’s skill-set while the Cardinals’ playbook is tailored to Kliff Kingsbury’s Spread scheme".
Sounds good, doesn't it? There's way more focus on distinctiveness in Madden 20, and we can't wait to get stuck in. Teams should feel different to play as, otherwise there'd be no point in experimenting to find the one that suits your play style best.
