Madden 20 Early Wishlist: 10 Things Fans Demand
9. More Realistic Kicking
Take a look at the recent Wild Card game between the Bears and Eagles for an example of how important kicking is in the NFL. Then, switch on Madden 19 and watch helplessly as Philadelphia's tiny Jake Elliott reels off impressive boot after impressive boot without missing his mark once.
There's zero pressure, and there's no real punishment for failing to hit that 'Perfect' mark on the power bar either.
In Madden 20, some fans would like to see greater emphasis on blocking. For example, playing against that ruthless Chicago defence shouldn't be a breeze for kickers booting against the wind at Soldier Field, and it definitely shouldn't be simple playing against the blitz. Right now, it is. There's no reward for drafting a good kicker at all.
Field goals can often be a difference maker in the real NFL, so why isn't that the case in Madden? Pressure on punts and kicks is a must, especially when gamers get to the Playoffs in Franchise.
