Madden 21: 10 Things We Already Know

8. 'X-Factors' Return

Madden 21
EA Sports

When 'X-Factors' were announced for Madden 20, a fair few eyeballs rolled as longtime fans questioned turning the series into even more of an arcade mishmash. Truthfully however, these special abilities did add some freshness to the gameplay and give everything a more tactical sheen.

They're back, and amplified.

"Explore over 50 new Superstar and X-Factor abilities, fresh out of the lab designed to elevate the stars of a new generation in Madden NFL 21". That's the marketing blurb straight from EA's mouth. The fact they're adding as many as 50 new X-Factors sounds promising, although they'll need to be careful not to go overboard.

The whole point of these abilities is that they're linked to the best players in the sport. Giving someone like Andy Dalton, for example (sorry, Andy) a superstar-worthy throwing skill to rival Patrick Mahomes would be a complete waste of one. They need to be sensible here.
