Madden 21: 10 Things We Already Know

6. Pass Rush Redefined

The defensive side of the ball needed a bit more work, so it's heartening to know that EA realised this too and wanted to make those plays as rewarding as the attacking ones. "Enhanced pass rush controls" dictate that players will be able to dominate the edges more potently and (theoretically) make life harder for QBs.

A more hands-on approach to controlling dominating defensive tackles like Aaron Donald was needed - he flapped around a little too much in Madden 20, and that didn't exactly make him one of the best defensive players in the game. In fact, going further, nobody was really that effective as a pass rusher last year.

That needed to change.

Now, thanks to these redone pass rush controls, things should improve. It could also mean you'll have less time in the pocket than before, and that could cause serious issues on higher difficulties. Good. Madden should be hard, and there should be a learning curve.
