Madden 21: 10 Things We Already Know
4. High School Football Is Here
EA are shacking up with Chino Moreno and the lads. Just like Deftones' 2001 hit, they're going 'Back To School' for an academic repeat. That's right - you'll be able to indulge in some high school football shenanigans in Madden 21 as part of the game's 'Face Of The Franchise' mode.
This is step beyond what last year's 'QB1' story did with the college game.
The mode has been re-dubbed 'Rise To Fame' instead of 'QB1', and it follows your player's bid to win a State Championship at one of the schools on offer. After that, it's off to college for two seasons of play-off action (it doesn't look like regular season college games will be included) and then comes the NFL Combine.
It'll be cool to see how EA handle the high school portion. They can't exactly integrate X-Factors or make it as quick and powerful as the NFL match-ups, because that wouldn't make any sense. Kids in high school won't move like Lamar Jackson, let's be honest.
