Madden 21: 10 Things We Already Know
3. Running Back & Wide Receiver Additions
Last year's 'Face Of The Franchise' limited players to just one position. Being fair to EA, choosing quarterback as that single one on offer made sense, because who doesn't want to throw bombs and hog all the glory for big wins? The problem is that some gamers wanted to win as a star running back.
Now they can, and they can even play wide receiver if they'd prefer that too.
This isn't possible during the high school bit of the mode, but players can switch to a different position once they reach college. That's a pretty big game-changer for 'Face Of The Franchise', and one that's overdue for EA's Madden story modes. Playing RB or WR instead of QB sounds like a blast.
Position changes can be common in college as players try to find their best place on the field and coaches try to maximise their output. It's great to see EA acknowledge that in Madden 21 and open up some more positions. Now, if only they'd let you grow into the next Warren Sapp on the other side of the ball.
