Madden 22: 10 Rumours You Need To Know

4. College Football Is EA’s Real Priority

Rinse and repeat formulas are nothing new for annual sports titles. Developers seem to spend 99% of their time convincing players that they're getting something new, and that can cause a disconnect between actual progression. Basically, if the devs are putting more energy into talking, then they're doing less creating.

That's the theory anyway.

EA announced that a College Football series is in development, and it should release within the next year or two. That has some Madden-lovers worried. They're fretting over the thought of EA putting more into a game that's a few years away than the next entry in the mainline franchise.

That'd be a terrible mistake. Again, Madden 22 needs to be a winner, and it badly needs to show that the series is heading towards freshness rather than just offering the same thing year-on-year. What if the NCAA game is their first priority? What if Madden 22 is gonna' be Madden 21 with the same old hype that's under-delivered in execution?
