Madden 23: 10 Things You NEED To Know Before Buying

8. Defensive Plays Have Been Rejigged

EA wants you to “Hit Everything” in this year's game. If it sounds like they've tacked a tagline onto the wrong sport and should be crowing about it for NHL 23, then don't worry - it makes more sense than a first glance reveals. Long story short, new mechanics will make it easier to be disruptive on the defensive side of the ball.

It's about time.

Hopefully, Madden 23 is less animation-reliant overall. Being locked into lengthy animation cycles that must complete before you can affect a play has always been irritating, so it's great to hear that Madden's gameplay has moved on from that sort of thing.

New 'hit stick' controls will help gamers blow up catch attempts or force fumbles on runners, and everything should feel way more natural than it did before. If that means defenders don't dive in the opposite direction onto the turf every single time, then bring it on.
