Madden 23: 10 Things You NEED To Know Before Buying
6. Hitting Gaps Should Be Easier
"Easier" might be the wrong word, because it should never be "easy" to blow defensive formations sky high and score touchdowns on every running play. However, in Madden 23, you'll have more control over your runners than 22 offered, and that's a big positive.
Using running plays in last year's game could be a frustrating experience, because even the best backs in the league would routinely run into traffic rather than darting through wide open channels. "360 Cuts" is supposed to change that and ensure RBs act more realistically when they see gaps.
This all ties in with fresh animations. Backs often glued themselves to the nearest defender instead of seeking space, but they shouldn't do that in 23. In other words, if a team leaves even the smallest gap open, you can exploit it with the right skill moves.
Defending, throwing and running aren't the only ongoing concerns in this year's game though.
