Mario Kart 9: 10 Gameplay Features Fans Demand

Over the years, Mario Kart has made new additions like hang gliders and hover wheels, which are definitely fun and look cool, trouble is they don't really change anything.

When you reach the edge of a cliff, you gently glide down to the road. When you arrive at the coast, you go down to a deep part of the ocean. If the road suddenly flips upside down, the hover wheels kick in. If everyone is forced to use them each lap under the same circumstances at the same time, then their isn't a tremendous amount of freedom or strategy involved.

These features should really change the way you play the game. If hang gliders enabled racers to access far riskier but shorter routes, that would force players to weigh up their options before and during a race.

The results would mean not every lap would be identical every time you played and not every racer would take the same journey; skill would play an important part in getting the advantage.
