Mario Kart 9: 10 Gameplay Features Fans Demand
6. Different Game Modes And Events
Be honest. Mario Kart's formula is getting a bit repetitive, so how about some new ways to play?
You already know what's going to be in the next instalment: Grand Prix, Vs, Time Trials, and Battle Mode. That's fine of course, they're all good fun; but with the exception of Mission mode on the DS, the franchise has been giving players the same thing over and over, time and time again.
Even Double Dash had the novel idea of putting two racers in one car, why take that away?
When you look at other racers and see all the simple new modes they've invented that complement their own mechanics, it seems daft not to do the same for Mario Kart. In Burnout, you could race around a track repeatedly until each person in last place was eliminated, as well as the legendary Crash Mode.
In Wipeout, each lap saw players go faster and faster, until they crashed. So, for Mario Kart, what if you could destroy targets, collect certain objects, and more?
Plus, thanks to online, all sorts of events and tournaments could be invented; things that kids in the '90s could only dream of.
