38. Mystique
Status: Prediction (potentially in the X-Men pack)
Mystique has long been a fan favourite amongst the villainous mutants, so there’s lots of people who’d pay to have her in their roster. However, while her skill set is hugely interesting from a narrative perspective, it leaves a lot to be desired from a gameplay point of view.
She could still work in game, and might end up with more of a Black Widow playstyle. However she ends up working though, it feels like it would strip away what makes Mystique Mystique.
Already in the game as a boss, she’d be a similar pick to Juggernaut, and flirts with similar controversy too.
There’s a fair few X-Men competing for what may well be a limited number of spaces. Still, for name brand recognition, there’s not many better than Mystique.
