A cool little reference for long time comic fans made an appearance in the new trailer, something that could have real significance if Marvel are set on creating a Gamerverse.

Thor's introduction comes as a group of AIM robots have turned on the public. The God of Thunder walks into a Daily Bugle reporter Philip Sheldon's shot, summoning Mjolnir from its resting place in front of Cap's statue. It seems as if, since A-Day, the hero has been completely off the radar while volunteering at some form of shelter. He is dressed in civilian clothes, with the name sticker "D. Blake".

Donald Blake was created by Odin to act as a host for his son, while teaching him a lesson about humanity. It's now his go-to alter ego when trying to avoid attention on Earth. Comic fans will recognise the name from Thor's time on Earth, after having his powers taken away by Odin, while eagle eyed movie fans may remember Thor using the name during the first film when Selvig was trying to free him from S.H.I.E.L.D. custody.

It was during this time when he met Jane Foster and developed feelings for her, which means she too could potentially appear.
