Marvel's Avengers Game: 10 Gameplay Details You Totally Missed

3. Multiplayer Is Confined To Side Missions (And Is Weird)

One of the most confusing things about Marvel's Avengers is how it's handling multiplayer. Since its E3 unveiling (and even before then), the title's multiplayer components were made the focus, with the official description highlighting how up to four players can play as each member of the team.

Consequently, many naturally assumed this would be the case for the entire game, with drop-in-drop-out multiplayer, again, working similar to that in Ultimate alliance.

That, sadly, is not the case, and multiplayer will apparently be relegated mostly to side missions. According to the devs, the bulk of the main story can only be played in single-player, while it's the side quests where other players can join the fight. Not only that, but you actually can't play the multiplayer sections locally, which makes absolutely zero sense.

How robust these side missions will be, and whether or not they'll be worth it, is of course yet to be seen, but it's a shame co-op is confined only to them.
