7. Mass Effect 1's Weapon System
The first Mass Effect game featured a very different weapon reload system than the other games. Instead of using the "not-actually-ammo-clips-we-promise" thermal clips from Mass Effect 2 and 3, some are hoping that Bioware will revert back to the overheat system of the first game. Why it'd be great: We always felt that the thermal clip system didn't really make much sense within the lore of the games, even with the explanation that it allows for a greater firepower output. Why not just work to improve the built-in cooling? And how has everyone suddenly adopted these new thermal clips in the time between Mass Effect 1 and 2? Let's be honest, it was just an excuse to add a more familiar style of gunplay. Why it won't happen: The overheat cooling system of the first game just wasn't that great. Despite making more sense within the lore of the game, it was widely criticised for not being particularly fun. Bioware won't throw away a gameplay system that has already proven to be popular, and it'd make even less sense for every Mass Effect inhabitant to suddenly go back to the old system.
