2. Make It An MMORPG
In the lead up to the release of Mass Effect 3, BioWare's founders Greg Zeschuk and Ray Muzyka - who just today announced their retirement - expressed an interest in creating a Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game set in the Mass Effect universe. Now that BioWare have eased players into the idea of a Mass Effect game having multiplayer - with the third game featuring a stripped-down co-op component - they could feasibly turn this huge, sprawling world into an MMO not unlike the fantastic Star Wars: The Old Republic. While BioWare might already have too much on their plate in that regard - and news that SW:TOR's subscriptions are continually dropping off is likely no encouragement - the sheer breadth and depth of what we have seen so far would lend itself extremely well to this sort of environment. Of course, it would be a huge gamble for BioWare to transform the reliable formula into something that fans may not mesh with, so it's more likely they would release this as a spin-off of sorts, in much the same way that SW:TOR might be considered a spin-off of Knights of the Old Republic. Whatever the delivery method, the potential of an ambitious project like this is huge.
