Mass Effect 4: Andromeda - 10 Small Changes That Would Make A Big Difference

9. Custom Faces On Par With The Scanned Models

Anyone who has played the Mass Effect games with a custom Shepard knows that in comparison to the default appearance, he/she can look pretty subpar. It is clear to anyone with eyes that the default face is more detailed and, well, just looks better. This is somewhat understandable given that custom Shepards are created through player-specific facial feature arrangements, but it was still always disappointing seeing that your custom Shepard was never as aesthetically pleasing as the default no matter how hard you tried. You could spend hours on crafting your perfect face, then have it ruined when a certain facial animation twists it into an ugly abomination. It would be really nice to have this minor issue amended in Andromeda, and with a new graphics engine, there is certainly hope. A huge reason why people love these games is because of the freedom to create a version of the protagonist that feels special to you. It generates an emotional bond to the character that automatically engages you with the story. No one wants to feel slightly deprived just because they didn€™t want to play as the default. A minor issue for sure, but one that, if rectified, many fans would be incredibly grateful towards Bioware for addressing.
