Mass Effect 4: Andromeda - 10 Small Changes That Would Make A Big Difference

7. More Lifelike NPCs

The first two Mass Effect games kept your crew in the same locations of the ship at all times. No matter the time or circumstance, whenever you€™d explore the Normandy, every character would remain in their place. Miranda would be at her desk. Garrus would be in the middle of his calibrations. Wrex would be standing around doing nothing. It was all very static. Mass Effect 3, for all its faults, did improve upon this flaw and actually had your crew change positions and talk to each other. It was a simple way to both develop character relationships and make the Normandy feel like a lived in and believable place. It was always a fun surprise walking into a room and seeing a couple characters engaging in some banter. Since Mass Effect 3 already set the precedent for this change, Andromeda should take it to the next level and improve upon it. When you explore your ship, it would be really interesting to see characters doing their jobs, walking around, talking to other members of the crew, and engaging in recreational activities. The NPCs should behave like real people and act as the beating heart of the ship. Just imagine being able to stand around and watch your ship bustle with activity in real time. It would be so immersive, and make Andromeda that much more of an amazing and wonderful Mass Effect experience.
