Mass Effect 4: Andromeda - 10 Small Changes That Would Make A Big Difference

3. Dual Interrupts

The interrupt system in Mass Effect 2 was a welcome addition to the series, allowing you to physically intervene in situations when given the opportunity. It spiced the then familiar formula up; adding a bit more flavour and fun to the morality system established in the first game. However, the concept still hasn't been used to its full potential. Previous games only allowed you to choose between paragon or renegade interrupts at separate instances. At no point were you ever forced to choose between the two at the same time, which is a shame because doing so would have been quite compelling. With Mass Effect: Andromeda on the horizon, now is a perfect place to implement this change. Dual interrupts would be a nice and simple way of making the system a bit more complicated and interesting, pushing you to make a split second decision based on your gut reaction to the situation. This could be taken even further by having the reactions that follow not necessarily match up with what you expected out of your decision. Too often a paragon player will only choose paragon interrupts, but what if doing so didn€™t always lead to a positive outcome? There is a lot more Bioware can do with the morality system, and little tweaks and advancements to the interrupts like this would improve it in substantial ways.
