Mass Effect 4 Andromeda: Predicting 10 New Gameplay Features

3. Recruitment Of NPCs?

According to the leak, your character is called The Pathfinder, and the story revolves around you finding a new home for humanity and other races. This kind of story definitely would open itself up to the exploration aspects that are being emphasized, and it would open up the way for potential recruitment of NPC€™s to the cause of your character. Now, it likely wouldn€™t be a case where you can recruit EVERYONE by any means, but I imagine that some form of recruitment would be available, as you meet citizens during your travels that could assist you, like someone who knows his way with a gun, or someone that could unlock a tech upgrade for you (something like the Agents in Dragon Age Inquisition that helped build up your Inquisition€™s power). This is something that, once again, would add to the dynamic feeling of these worlds and make them feel alive. If each world has substantial areas to discover and people to recruit, then no planet is simply a time waster, or just a place for a couple of story missions. Keeping each huge open area relevant and ensuring that they can stay interesting is key so that the player doesn€™t feel like they€™re just killing time on a big map, a la Dragon Age Inquisition. Opening the door to recruitment of random NPC€™s not only makes each world more interesting, it makes every person worth talking to.
