Mass Effect: Andromeda - 10 Core Improvements Fans Haven't Considered
6. First-Person Helmet Visors
Grand Theft Auto V recently enjoyed a great deal of success when it introduced a first-person perspective into what has always traditionally been an exclusively third-person game. By offering an FPS experience in tandem with the third-person viewpoint that has been the spine of the series so far, Andromeda would have a great chance of replicating that success. Not only would the FPS mode be welcomed by fans of the more popular genre titles - Call of Duty and Halo, for example - but it also opens up an potentially really cool selling point for the game; helmet visors. Since we're in a distant future sci-fi universe, why not go a bit crazy with the gadgets? For example, if you're in first person with a targeting visor, the HUD from the visor could briefly flash up a large mech enemy's weak spot - giving you the chance to eliminate it quickly and efficiently in one burst. Alternatively, a different visor could keep a constant feed of information on the screen for you, letting you know what enemies are particularly weak to or how a person seems to be reacting to conversation options. If nothing else, the hybrid would give players freedom to choose between first and third person - and giving the players the choice is usually a good decision.
