Mass Effect: Andromeda - 10 Core Improvements Fans Haven't Considered
4. A Co-Op Campaign
The online features of ME3 let you play co-operatively with people around the world - and all in all it was pretty good. Pushing it into the single player mode through the Readiness Rating system, though, felt like EA were manipulating you into buying an online pass - and it was especially annoying for the players who weren't interested in the online mode, as it made getting "better" endings much more difficult. However, why not expand on this idea, and make the campaign mode for Andromeda accessible for multiplayer as well? There are several benefits to this - for starters, it opens the game up for you to play an actual story mode with friends, rather than simple one-off deathmatches online. There's potential for splitscreen and local multiplayer, if you want to go REALLY ham on the idea. It also means you'd have a human ally in-game rather than an AI, and whilst they may not have the same spot on timing, it's harder to order around an AI mid-fight than it is to tell your mate what you're doing - so you can change tactics much quicker. And last but not least, it means that if you make a mistake and, you've got a companion there to hopefully revive you instead of immediately having to restart and lose progress. There just aren't that many good co-op games around these days, so Andromeda would be a welcome addition to any console library.
