Mass Effect Andromeda: 11 Leaked Details You're Not Supposed To Know

7. It'll Be "Easy For Non-Fans To Pick Up And Play"

Many clues to pick apart come from the specific questions the tester was asked after supposedly getting hands-on time with the latest build of the game. One such question was if MEA would be "easy for non-Mass Effect fans to pick up and play." This echoes the pre-release talk around Mass Effect 3, as whilst ME2 was a focussed effort to double down on the world mythos and character-building framework of the first game, ME3 took a far more action-heavy route, introducing multiplayer, arena-based combat missions and a general focus on third-person action. It played fine enough, but was the first nail in the game's coffin overall as the perception of ME3 was that it just wasn't as 'for the fans' as the first two. A sad fact - depending on how it's handled - is that a property as big as Mass Effect (especially when it's being handled by EA) can't afford to target just one demographic, and so for whatever reason, there are elements within Andromeda now purpose-built to target a wider audience.
