Mass Effect Andromeda: 11 Leaked Details You're Not Supposed To Know

5. A Lesson Learned From No Man's Sky?

Once No Man's Sky finally launches, it's going to change the way game developers approach world design. Why would they ever go through the time-intensive process of coding thousands of art assets - from creatures to forestation, geometry etc. - if there are algorithms that can randomly generate it anyway? As such, one of the first things we ever heard about MEA was that it was going to give you an entire galaxy to explore. A line from the latest leak reads that you'll be embroiled in a "planet-dense but seamless open-world galaxy, rich with discovery", which could come alongside a game world about the size of something like No Man's Sky or Elite: Dangerous.
"I think i will feel like an explorer" was the question the survey-taker had to responded to, and it's a unique hook we've not seen since essentially the first game. Exploring and charting new planets is supposed to be No Man's Sky's big thing, but if Bioware have had the time to study their tech - and let's face it, NMS has been in development long enough - there's every possibility that a similar gameplay hook exists here.
