You can scream and pound the walls all you want about how "Mass Effect is not a multiplayer shooter", but EA just don't see it that way. And to be fair, Mass Effect 3's multiplayer was pretty damn solid, remaining one of the most underrated third-person shooters, and one that's a damn sight more fun than the shotgun-fest that is Gears of War.

Indeed, Andromeda will feature a full-on Horde mode (admittedly cribbed from Gears 2), though we're yet to see if like Mass Effect 3, any multiplayer modes will feed back into the main game's progression.

A key difference gameplay-wise from the single player is you'll have to pick a class and stick to it, but a poignant negative - thanks again to that Beastcast podcast - is that the blind loot boxes are back.

They simply make too much money for EA, as consumers seem too happy to continually throw money down the drain on 'mystery boxes' of content. Despite that potential sour taste, Andromeda is still shaping up to be a pretty meaty package - I just wish they'd show us more, instead of teasing things on Twitter and forcing fans to seek out interviews with specific outlets.
