Mass Effect Andromeda Gameplay Hands-On: 11 New Details You Need To Know

6. Facial Animations Are Still A (Small) Issue

Coming out of The Game Awards last December, the biggest takeaway from Andromeda wasn't positive - instead it focused on the weird blank stare that Sarah Ryder gave whilst taking a gun from an enemy. Or to put it another way, the fact her face almost didn't animate whatsoever.

Bioware acknowledged the issue and said they'd work on it, and whilst hands-on with the game has showed that all your squadmates are spot-on (even the human ones), the facial animation issues persist - weirdly - with the main characters.

According to MEOdyssey, there were issues for "5%" of Scott (male) Ryder's animations, and 15% for Sarah (female) Ryder. Facial ticks were our only issue with Horizon: Zero Dawn too, yet that didn't get in the way of the game still being a five star experience.

Bioware's Aaron Flynn has stated there will be more patches in place to fix the remaining issues at launch, but only a few weeks out, the proof will indeed be in the pudding come March 21st.
