Mass Effect Andromeda - Ranking Every Character From Worst To 'Best'

10. Sarah Ryder

When both Ryder twins are written with 99% of the same dialogue, it comes down to voice acting and animation to distinguish the two, as therein lies quite a substantial difference between Sarah and Scott.

Sarah is... well, horrendous. Selecting and tinkering with one of the preset faces gets you around the broken facial animation rendering, but voice actor Fryda Wolff delivers some very basic line reads throughout. The portions of Andromeda where humorous beats or entire punchlines hinge on her delivery always fall flat, as does a significantly terrible scene between her and Suvi.

Bioware are clearly going for "awkward high school romance", but it feels scripted and acted by adults who've only heard about teen fiction through mistranslated ancient texts. Have a listen...

Sadly, considering Jennifer Hale knocked it clean out the stratosphere in the original trilogy as FemShep, Wolff was always going to have a tough time matching up, but her lines are simply just not passable.
