Mass Effect: Ranking The Characters From Worst To Best
13. Kaidan Alenko
It's fair to say Kaiden isn't exactly a fan favourite - he's never given the acclaim or adoration that other characters get. He can be seen as weak and annoying by some, and he does have moments where he gets a bit overly mopey - but he isn't really as bad as he's made out.
His suffering and his drifting apart from Rahna at Brain Camp make for a genuinely sympathetic backstory, and it establishes his character well. He's also one of Shepard's most loyal friends - but his character progression never really goes beyond that, and since we never see the most memorable incident in his life (where he kills the tyrannical Vyrnnus with a Biotic kick to the head), he never really stands out from the crowd.
As a Biotic-Tech hybrid in combat he can fill a gap in the team quite nicely - but he's not quite up there in terms of memorability.
