2. No Stealth
The original MGS games were all about stealth, and though the fourth game did admittedly make it an option, it was still a large consideration of the gameplay. Here, not so much, or even at all. There is basically no stealth in the demo whatsoever, but instead a bombardment of crazy sprites during battles, and the clear assertion that you're supposed to engage in combat rather than find a sneaky way around. To be fair to it, the entire tone of the game is tailor-made for brainless hack 'n slash gameplay, so it would seem odd if weren't able to do that, but then the question poses itself - should this have been a dumb action game in the first place? Given the density of the cut-scenes in the demo alone, and how there's clearly some sort of disarray between the storytelling and the gameplay, it seems very strange indeed; one wants to be serious and drawn-out, the other wants to be quick and easy. It really just feels as though the developers were making a generic ninja robot game, and slapped the MG name onto it to ensure it sells by the bucket-load.
