Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance: 10 Reasons It's Awesome

7. It Looks Great

Isn't it great to see a game that runs at 60FPS? Given how the current generation of gaming is winding down, a lot of games are locking their frame-rates down to a disappointing 30FPS in order to maintain technical consistency, but not Revengeance. The game might not look a whole lot better than MGS4, but four and a half years ago, that game was a technical triumph and continues to look fantastic today, so this is hardly faint praise. Given the chaos that pulses through every second of gameplay, it's very impressive that a game so near the end of the current generation's shelf-life manages to look so technically coherent. Through and through, it's a slick, great-looking game that makes the best of its locations, its characters, and best of all, the combat, to create an aesthetically thrilling experience that's considerably more polished than the demo we were subjected to last month.
