Metal Gear Solid: 16 Mind-Blowing Easter Eggs You Totally Missed
9. There's An Assassins' Creed 'Leap Of Faith' In Peace Walker
Seems Hideo Kojima was just as enamoured with the Assassin's Creed series as the rest of us across the late 2000s, as not only did 'Altair' show up in a trailer for MGS 4 (later showing revealing to be Snake) and the iconic white robes were then unlockable, but come Peace Walker his team were in full on cameo-mode. That meant one of the talking cats (or Felynes, to be fancy) from Monster Hunter showed up in a bonus cutscene, but better still, during the 16th Main Op mission, Travel to the Mine Base and you can mantle up one of the rooftops near a nest of pigeons, whereby Kaz Miller will phone you up and explain how best to leap off into the hay below - just like in the AC games. The 'Eagle Cry' sound effect even plays when you do, before unlocking a hay bale-version of the cardboard box. Miller notes that "Back in the time of the Crusades, members of the order of Assassins used to use Assassin's Straw Box" leaving you to shamble forward and take down your next enemy in barnyard-themed style.
