Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain - 10 Insane New Features You Must See

1. Tag-Team Moves - A Helicopter-Felling Thrown Grenade Redirected By Sniper Shot

Okay, now this is just entering entirely new universes of awesome, as at the climax of the demo Snake has been fighting a large gunship for a couple of minutes and is completely pinned down. Ordering Quiet to take up a spot to the west of his position - also making sure the helicopter stays to the north - he throws a grenade far to the left of the chopper, only for Quiet to shoot and redirect it in mid-air, impacting the aircraft from the side and turning it into a blazing fireball, downing it in one glorious motion. Considering all of this happens very dynamically - that is to say there are no audio cues or cutscenes telling you to do this - everything feels remarkably seamless and intense, something that we think will come to define the newer MGS experience. We can only assume that Quiet's tag-move is an indicator of things to come, as with DD we're sure you'll be able to do dual ground-takedowns, and as the demo closes out with Quiet accompanying you back to base on the side of the chopper, these characters must play a significant part in your missions and the story itself. Speaking of which, now that we know Quiet is Snake/Big Boss' friend and partner, alongside how a certain female sniper mentioned her relationship with him in the first Metal Gear Solid - could she turn out to be Sniper Wolf after forming a bond with DD? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TnD_Owxiqr0 Check out the full 20 minute gameplay demo above and let us know what you think of all these ridiculously brilliant mechanics in the comments below!
