7. Naomi Hunter

By delving into the past, Hideo Kojima has an opportunity to explore the histories of his immense supporting cast and help us further understand their involvement in future events. One character's past we desperately need to see is Naomi Hunter, Snake's aide in the original Metal Gear Solid. Despite that role, she actually despises Snake and bids to extract revenge on him, all because of the defeat of Big Boss. Big Boss rescues Naomi and her adoptive brother Frank Jaeger from Mozambique at some point during the 80s - when Big Boss was defeated by Solid Snake, Naomi developed an intense hatred for the man she would be working with in future. Obviously the relationship between Big Boss and Naomi needs exploring, even if we only see a handful of scenes. Her future, potentially life-threatening actions are all set into motion from this chance encounter - it's almost essential that it be seen happening first hand. The Phantom Pain is set during an exciting time as many plot threads that weave throughout the Metal Gear Universe originate in the 80s - Naomi Hunter's great respect and love for Big Boss is one that we desperately need to see realised.
