Metal Gear Solid V: 20 Things You Didn't Know You Could Do

16. Use Specific Tapes For Very Specific Things

There's far more to the divisive cassette tapes than just alternating between plot exposition and 80s smash hits. To pull all of the following off, the clips need to be played through the iDroid's speaker, which means upgrading to the second model, then hitting R2/RT in the Cassette Tape menu and going right onto the speaker icon - you'll hear the audio change to confirm. The six parings of tapes and uses found so far are: The 'Poop Tape' - Found near various toilets (one being in La Smasei Laman, where you get the Honey Bee in mission six). Play this after entering a toilet and guards will leave you alone, even if they're looking for you. Enemy Eliminated - Providing you're not within eyesight of another soldier, this will clear the current alert state - it can even be used to move gunships if they're closing in on you. Afghan/African Lullaby - One of each exists in both open-world maps. Use to instantly put any guards in the surrounding area straight to sleep. Animal Tapes - From wolves to bears and beyond, every animal you Fulton will appear at the Conservation Platform, where upon visiting you can pick up a tape for each one. Bears growl, wolves howl, and so on. Use these from any safe position (or right behind a guard under the safety of a cardboard box) to check out some amazing results. Quiet's Humming - Quiet's therapeutic humming might seem pointless, but play it when you're using any rifle scope and it'll steady your aim considerably. Love Deterrence - Mentioned in more detail in the next point, it can stop the Wandering Mother Base Soldiers from fleeing. Be wary of overusing the likes of the poop tape, enemy eliminated and the animal ones, as doing so too often can actually break them.
