9. What Code Talker Meant By Keeping An Eye On Kaz

In a late-game cut-scene upon returning to Mother Base, Big Boss stumbles across Code Talker seemingly lost in a trance, spying on members of the Diamond Dogs. While most of what he says is kind of amusing and throwaway - Ocelot's aim is off, a few soldiers are meeting next to some containers - Code Talker also cryptically tells Snake to keep an eye on Kaz. It's a strange scene because it doesn't really amount to anything in-game. There's supposedly a spy in the midst, which explains everyone's hesitation and caution at this point in the story, however this moment sets up Kaz as an untrustworthy figure even though the rest of the title points to him being one of Big Boss' most loyal comrades. The mystery around Kaz is also alluded to early on while Huey's being interrogated by Ocelot, who also cryptically mentions that Kaz might have had something to do with the destruction of Mother Base 9 years ago. Unfortunately there's no in-game explanation for what these scenes might mean, and there's even less clues for fans to piece it together for themselves.
