Metroid: 25 Greatest Boss Fights RANKED

13. Experiment Z-57 - Metroid Dread

Even though all the bosses of Metroid Dread telegraph their attacks, that doesn't mean they're easy, especially Experiment Z-57. This abomination is so fast, you feel like you performed a miracle when you dodge his plasma breath or claws. He's the only boss in the game that can restore his health and can avoid injuries by retreating into the background.

After he's sustained enough damage, the Experiment will perform a series of new attacks including blasting the fans on the right, causing crescent-shaped shockwaves to be hurled at you. This is the hardest attack to dodge in the entire game since the force of the fans keeps knocking you back, making it nearly impossible to time when to jump over the shockwaves.

It seems the developers knew Experiment Z-57 was a tad too hard for some since you are given the chance to kill him pre-emptively by smashing into the fan with a Shinespark. If you're having trouble with him, there's no shame taking the easy way out.
