Because Ridley has appeared in the Metroid series more often than any villain, the malevolent pterosaur is regarded as Samus Aran's arch-nemesis.

Although the cybernetic version, Meta Ridley, seemingly died in Metroid Prime, no one was surprised to see the Space Pirate leader return in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. As soon as Ridley sees you, he smashes you through the ground, causing both of you to fall into an enormous generator shaft.

While you descend down this towering pit, you must blast the winged dinosaur while he flies over, below, and around you. Sometimes, you have to ride on his body like a surfboard and shoot him in the face, while dodging his projectile attacks.

This is the most creative battle with Ridley in the series and would've ranked higher if the face-off wasn't so brief.
