Metroid: 25 Greatest Boss Fights RANKED

22. Draygon - Super Metroid

The last primary boss of Super Metroid, an Evir called Draygon, is the hardest enemy in the game by far.

This hovering crustacean spews a sticking substance, preventing you from jumping, making it easy for Draygon to pick you up and drain your life away. This waterborn monster swings around the room at top speed, making it difficult to blast him in his vulnerable belly.

However, the main reason that people remember Draygon is he's the first boss in the series that has more than one method to kill him. Although you can blast the overgrown lobster to death, it's easier to grapple onto the electric units while Draygon is holding you, shocking the boss to death in seconds.

This idea was a welcome addition to the series as it made players realise there were multiple ways to get past an obstacle.
