Minecraft: 7 Terrifying Moments New Players Must Endure
6. Digging Around
To quote the wise words of a famous gray wizard: “You fear to go into those mines. The Dwarves dug too greedily and too deep. You know what they awoke in the darkness”.
In Minecraft, a game where you’re supposed to... well, mine your ass off, every swing of that trusty pickaxe may lead you to discover the terrible threats that lurk beneath the surface of the earth.
Zombies, creepers and maybe a diamond or two, if you are really lucky.
You’ll eventually want more resistant armor and sharper weapons, as well as other special items, like a clock or even a jukebox. In order to get these items, rare materials (such as diamonds and gold) are necessary, which means you’ll spend a good amount of time mining and digging.
The rarer the material, the deeper you’ll have to go. And you know what’s awake down there in the darkness, right?
Not the Balrog, but something almost as bad: Uncertainty.
It’s a gut-wrenching feeling, not knowing what kind of hazards lie ahead. Do not despair though, be brave and keep swinging that pickaxe.
